 Joint IFRS Foundation, PAFA and ICPAK Conference

24-26 August 2016, Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya

The IFRS® Foundation, Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) will jointly host an IFRS Conference and IFRS for SMEs workshop in Nairobi Kenya on 24—26 August 2016.  

This two-and-a-half-day conference will bring together leaders in financial reporting from the private and public sector, regulatory bodies, the International Accounting Standards Board (the Board), as well as accounting professionals and others with an interest in IFRS Standards.

The conference offers a unique opportunity to hear the latest on IASB projects by members of the Board and listen to the needs of the African business fraternity.

Presenters will include:

  • Hans Hoogervorst, Chairman, IASB
  • Darrel Scott, Member, IASB
  • Wei-Guo Zhang, Member, IASB
  • Hugh Shields, Executive Director, IASB

Topics include:

  • implementing IFRS 9 Financial Instruments;
  • implementing IFRS 15 Revenue from Contracts with Customers;
  • implementing IFRS 16 Leases; and
  • Agriculture (including fair value and bearer-plant amendments to IAS 16).

In addition, we are offering a half-day pre-conference IFRS for SMEs® Standard workshop from 09:30–12:00 on Wednesday 24 August.
