Jürgen Kirchof, Advisory Council Member

Jürgen Kirchhof is a Principal Finance Expert in the Financial Reporting and Policy Division at the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt, Germany.

He represents the ECB, which is the central bank for the euro, on the IFRS Advisory Council. The ECB maintains the euro's purchasing power and thus price stability in the euro area. Alongside his current role, he also represents the ECB on the Accounting Experts Group of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision and the EFRAG Technical Expert Group.

His previous roles include being a Deputy Head of Section and IFRS expert at the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority in Bonn, Germany, and Audit Team Leader at Ernst & Young in Frankfurt, Germany.

He is a Uniform Certified Public Accountant and has university diplomas in Business Administration and Economics from the EBS University of Business and Law in Wiesbaden, Germany and the University of Hagen, Germany.
